Install a travel data eSIM before you fly

Install at home over Wi-Fi, keep your home SIM for calls, and let the travel eSIM handle data.

What to do

1. Install while you still have Wi-Fi — scanning at the airport gate works, but a failed scan there is hard to fix.
2. iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → scan the QR code. Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM.
3. Keep your home SIM active for calls and SMS, and set the travel eSIM as the line for mobile data.
4. Enable Data Roaming on the travel eSIM — it is required outside your home country.
5. Do not delete the profile. Most travel eSIMs are install-once; a deleted profile usually cannot be reinstalled.
