Número de telefone dos EUA para verificação bancária no exterior em 2026 | MollySIM
Choosing a US phone number for bank verification abroad starts with how you will receive SMS. MollySIM's T-Mobile cards below $15/month need Wi-Fi Calling; the $15 plan also supports cellular roaming. Lyca Mobile US can register on local towers abroad, but using its plan allowance outside the US requires Wi-Fi Calling.
Who this is for
Use this comparison if you live outside the US or travel frequently and need codes for Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One, Schwab, IBKR or PayPal. The same setup decision matters if you keep a US number for social or crypto accounts.
Choose first between keeping a number for occasional codes and paying for more calls or SMS. Then decide whether you can stay connected to Wi-Fi when you log in. The product details do not establish bank-by-bank acceptance, so test the number with your own accounts.
How your US number reaches you abroad

Instant QR code activation, hotspot enabled, with guaranteed 384kbps fallback speed to keep Maps & Digital Wallets active.
For T-Mobile cards other than the $15 plan, there is no cellular voice or SMS roaming. Calls and SMS work through Wi-Fi Calling on any Wi-Fi, and only with US numbers: you can call and receive calls from US numbers and receive US SMS. Bank SMS arrives over that connection. T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling abroad therefore requires both the setting and a Wi-Fi connection.
The $15 T-Mobile plan is the only T-Mobile option here with cellular roaming. It includes 1GB of China roaming and free incoming service. Lyca's ability to register on a local tower is separate from access to its allowance: outside the US, switch on Wi-Fi Calling for plan data, calls and SMS.
For the distinction between internet access and a line for verification, read data-only versus voice and SMS.

MollySIM activates T-Mobile cards before shipping and binds each card to your number. Lyca is also sold as an activated product; once sold, non-faulty cards are not refundable. A deleted Lyca eSIM cannot be restored, only re-issued.
Every physical card we sell can also be delivered as an eSIM, with an activation QR code by email: write eSIM in your order note.
Set up your line in six steps
- Install and enable the US line. On iPhone, open the mobile service settings and select that line. On Android, select it in the SIM or mobile network settings. Keep it active when you first log into a bank app on a new device; bank apps often need this.
- Turn data roaming OFF for the US line. Check the selected line before changing the switch. Apply this setup instruction even when comparing a card with roaming features; buying that feature and enabling roaming are separate decisions.
- Enable Wi-Fi Calling for that line. On iPhone, use the line's Wi-Fi Calling setting. On Android, find Wi-Fi Calling for the selected SIM. Follow the carrier's activation prompts. Use a US VPN or proxy only if the carrier requires a US IP during activation.
- Enter a US E911 address when prompted. Use a real US residential address during Wi-Fi Calling setup. Complete that prompt before testing calls and SMS.
- Select the US line as the default for SMS where your phone provides that choice. Check this on a phone with multiple lines, including an Android phone with a separate SMS preference. Keep the US line enabled and connect the phone to Wi-Fi.
- Test calls and a bank code while connected to Wi-Fi. If you are still in the US, connect Wi-Fi Calling before leaving and re-test abroad. Test your bank app's approval option too, so you have a fallback when an SMS does not arrive.
Use the Wi-Fi Calling and eSIM traveller guide alongside these steps when configuring your line.
Troubleshoot missing codes
For a Chase verification code not arriving, begin with the line and connection checks below. Use the same checks for other accounts receiving 2FA SMS abroad.
| Problem | Check | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Bank SMS does not arrive | US line selected for SMS where available; Wi-Fi Calling enabled; phone connected to Wi-Fi | Correct those settings, then request a code; use the bank's app-based approval as a fallback |
| Lyca line has been unused | Whether non-use has reached 60 consecutive days | Check service status and top up to restore service; do not assume an expired number is recoverable |
| Airport or poor Wi-Fi | Whether Wi-Fi Calling connects on that Wi-Fi | Connect to working Wi-Fi and re-test; configure and test before leaving the US where possible |
| T-Mobile shows no cellular service abroad | Whether you bought a plan other than $15/month | Connect to Wi-Fi and enable Wi-Fi Calling; those plans have no cellular voice/SMS roaming |
| Lyca shows a local network but codes fail | Whether Wi-Fi Calling is enabled | Enable it and connect to Wi-Fi to use the plan allowance abroad |
| First bank login fails on a new device | Whether the US SIM is active | Enable the line, reconnect Wi-Fi Calling and retry; use app-based approval if available |
Work out the cost
Separate the retail purchase from recurring plan payments. Included credit is not specified in this comparison, so the figures below are renewal budgets, not quoted first-year totals.
For T-Mobile, twelve monthly payments are $36 at $3/month, $60 at $5, $72 at $6, $120 at $10 or $180 at $15. The $3 card costs $40 more upfront than the $5 card: $64.99 minus $24.99. Its recurring charge is $2 lower, so that difference equals 20 monthly payments before any other charges or included credit.
Lyca's periods are 30 days. Twelve $10 renewals cost $120 for 360 days; twelve $15 renewals cost $180 for 360 days. Lyca states a 5% regulatory recovery fee on website purchases, including auto-recharges, and a 10% discount when you activate auto-renewal. Check those items at checkout before treating the base renewal budget as your payable total.
If you also need travel data, use how much data you need for a week to plan that separately from number retention.
Keeping the number alive (保号)
T-Mobile's $3/month card is the retention plan for someone whose priority is keeping the number. Budget for its recurring payment even if you only need occasional verification messages.
For Lyca US, the SIM and assigned number expire after 60 consecutive days of non-use. Plan expiry alone does not cancel the number, and a top-up restores service. Do not treat that as a promise that topping up after the number expires will recover it. Set a reminder to use the line before 60 consecutive unused days pass.
FAQ
Does every listed card guarantee codes from my bank?
The product details describe delivery methods and allowances, without a guarantee for each bank. Test your own bank's SMS and app-based approval before depending on the line abroad.
Can I receive codes without Wi-Fi?
The T-Mobile $15 plan supports direct local cell towers. The other T-Mobile plans require Wi-Fi Calling. Lyca can register on towers abroad, but its plan allowance requires Wi-Fi Calling outside the US.
What should a Lyca Mobile US review check about coverage?
Lyca's terms specify plan calls, texts and data in the US, including all 50 states and Puerto Rico, with no national roaming. Texts to 900 numbers are excluded. Keep those limits separate from its overseas Wi-Fi Calling setup.
What does Lyca's unlimited international calling include?
The $15 plan covers 80+ destinations, including the UK, France, China, India and Brazil. Unlimited international calls cover the first 10 dialled numbers per country, excluding Morocco IAM/Wana and Israel prefixes 97256/97259.
Does Lyca 5G need a particular phone?
It needs a compatible handset. For iPhone, Lyca specifies iOS 16.4 or later. Check that requirement separately from enabling Wi-Fi Calling for bank SMS abroad.
Do I need a US VPN every time I request a code?
The setup instruction is to use a US VPN or proxy only if the carrier requires a US IP while activating. Enable Wi-Fi Calling and keep your phone connected to Wi-Fi for calls and SMS.
Which card fits you?
Choose from MollySIM's T-Mobile cards by usage: $3/month for retention, $5 or $6 for larger fixed allowances, and $10 for unlimited US calls and SMS. Choose $15 if you need the listed cellular roaming option and China allowance.
Choose MollySIM's Lyca Mobile US cards if the 30-day allowances suit you: $10 for 3,000 minutes and 3,000 SMS, or $15 for unlimited US talk/SMS and the listed international calls. Before ordering, account for Wi-Fi Calling abroad, the activated-product refund terms and the 60-day non-use limit.
